Patient Story
Patient 50 was a 65-year-old woman who came to see me after significant weight loss left her breasts deflated, heavy, and hanging. She shared that she used to “fold her breasts into her bra,” and that her husband rarely saw her breasts without one because she felt embarrassed by their appearance. One of her first questions to me was, “Am I too old for this surgery?”

Twenty years earlier, I had performed her abdominoplasty. Since then, she had continued to take excellent care of herself, losing additional weight—but with that came the loss of the full DD-cup breasts she once had.

Dr. Koo’s Consultation

Surgical Technique
I performed a mastopexy combined with subfascial breast augmentation in a single surgery. A subfascial approach allowed me to add shape and upper-pole fullness while maintaining a natural, soft appearance appropriate for her body and age.

Smooth round demi-profile implants (230 cc) were selected to restore volume without making her feel top-heavy or over-augmented. The procedure was completed without complications, including no compromise to nipple viability.

The Results
She now has lifted, proportionate breasts with restored fullness and a youthful contour that fits her frame beautifully. She reports a profound improvement in confidence—both privately and in everyday life. She feels re-energized, motivated to exercise, and proud of her body again.

She has shared that she hopes other women will feel empowered to choose surgery for themselves when it feels right—regardless of age.

Dr. Koo performed a simultaneous breast lift procedure (mastopexy) and breast augmentation surgery (silicone implant placed under the muscle) to correct the asymmetry. She was also able to give BOTH breasts the fullness and roundness that the patient never had previously.

The patient feels liberated…to wear normal bras without padding, to wear cute tops, to feel confident to be in a swimsuit and to be naked!
