FTM Top Surgery Before and After

Patient Story:
A 20-year-old transmasculine patient presented for female-to-male (FTM) top surgery after long-term gender dysphoria. He had been in therapy for three years and was undergoing hormonal suppression under medical supervision. His family supported his gender-affirming surgical plan.

Surgical Technique:
Dr. Michele Koo performed a subcutaneous nipple-sparing mastectomy with breast tissue reduction to masculinize the chest. Adequate soft tissue was preserved to provide a natural male chest contour. The final scar pattern included a circum-areolar incision with an inframammary horizontal scar, producing an aesthetic and functional result. The nipple areola sensation and viability are preserved.

Results:
The patient achieved a gender-affirming, harmonious male chest appearance and successfully transitioned into college life with greater confidence and emotional well-being.
