The current form stable cohesive gel silicone resembles a jello firmness.

Saline implants however tend to cause palpable ripples with time which can sometimes be also visible.

Gummy bear implants (highly cohesive gel)

Gummy bear implants, offered by reputable brands like Allergan/Abbvie, Mentor, and Sientra, as well as other smaller companies such as Implantech, are filled with a highly cohesive silicone gel. This gel is designed to maintain its shape, providing a natural look and feel. Even if the implant shell were to rupture, the cohesive gel stays intact. These implants are a suitable choice for those looking for natural and long-term results. Think of the inside resembling a gummy bear candy.

The Allergan Natrelle 410 highly cohesive gel implants have been voluntarily recalled due to its textured outside shell being associated in a rare instance with Breast Implant Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA ALCL).

BIA ALCL is a rare disease seen in the capsule formed around textured implants. The disease is curable with surgical excision of the entire capsule. In the very rare instance, chemotherapy or radiation may be required in a late stage BIA ALCL.
